Yogg-Saron, The death of the old God

Down he goes, the old God of death. It's been a long and hectic week, with long hours, little sleep, but we're finally at ways end.

A job well done to everyone who pulled through the entire week.

Ulduar has been a fun place to journey through, and it appears that Blizzard has done a good job on many of the encounters, granted we do wish they had been slightly more challenging. Then again there is always the hard modes.

I'm glad to see that there is finally an instance with tuned encounters that requires raiders to raid again. With the casual friendly instances previously seen, this wont be pugged for quite some time. It's not necessarily hard, but mechanics is never a pug players best side. It's been over half a year since something remotely challenging existed, and now it seems it's once again been introduced, at some level.

Towel will begin, as many others, to work on the hard mode encounters to finally face of with Algalon the Observer.

Media of the Ulduar bosskills will be released as soon as the rendering and editing is complete.

Still living, Still farming

It's been quite a while since our last news update. The current state of affairs in the World of Warcraft warrants little to be told, and even less to be written.

Towel has completed the achievements and content that Blizzard set out for us. We're flying around on our proto drakes and chilling in the sun on the beaches of the Sholozar Basin, wondering what lies ahead. Ulduar is set to arrive shortly, possibly even within 1-2 resets. This will tower the future of the endgame raiding, and possibly change the way we look at the game as a whole.

Blizzard names it the most ambitious instance to date. We look forward to putting that to the test.

Raeni left us for the real world. And as such Towel has undergone some changes in staff. Altho rest assured, we're stronger than ever.

I'd like to take this chance to welcome our new healing advisor, Arret. Aswell as our new melee advisor Shochu to the officers team. Flametorch remains as our esteemed Raidleader, and Nevander still keeps the tanks on a tight leash.

Ulduar is coming, and we'll be ready.

3... wait, 4 drakes down

Everyone and their mother beat us to it, but at least they're down and dead and we got ourselves yet another title.

Heroic content cleared

Tonight we killed Malygos 25man, which was the last heroic boss left unexplored for Towel.
Next couple of weeks we're looking forward to gearing up in all the available content, and we'll play some with dragons at sarth-whatshisname.

On a different note, we're currently recruiting several classes, so if you're a dpser or a healer looking for a home, drop us a note :)

For the Horde!

One of Blizzards newest features, "Achievements", offers a wide variety of smaller and larger tasks put there to enhance the gaming experience for everyone. Arguably the hardest one is "For The Horde!", where your raid is tasked with killing all 4 Alliance faction leaders, tuned to playerlevel 80, with level 75 city guards. Parts of Towel, with some of our friends from Glodge, flatline, NBTD and others spent a good portion of Saturday night fighting alliance in their own home grounds. I think its safe to say that everyone who participated in the raid had a fantastic time, and we want to thank the alliance players for staying up and putting up a strong fight in defense of their leaders.

Our reward: Reins of the Black War Bear

Naxx cleared - Kel'Thuzad downed

As a part of our preparations for wotlk, we've started raiding Naxx. Obviously its fun and games - its not exactly tuned to our gear leves - but I fear next time we go I'll have to enforce a "naked" dress code so we can actually see the boss's abilities before he dies :s

None the less, I think I can speak on behalf of all those of us who've never been to Naxx before, when I say:

It was a night always to be remembered.

Kil'Jaeden down!

It's Game Over guys!

Time to kick back, raid 2 days a week, level alts and finally get around to farming those war-bears.

You've been a amazing crew, and I'm proud to have each and every one of you with me at our day of triumph.
Thank you for all the hours you've spent learning these encounters, thank you for all the frustrations and all the laughs. Thank you for standing by my side also in the future :)

WotLK is right around the corner, and we'll continue going strong - whatever Blizzard chooses to throw at us.

With the deepest respect for my crew,
Raeni

Towel needs YOU!

Towel is undergoing a bit of a cleanup to relieve us of the slack, and put some energy back into our raids. If you have 4x T6, and experience up to Twins, you got a really good chance at a trial with us. We're currently recruiting ALL CLASSES, ALL SPECS.

Its time for summer and slack. So far we've not had to cancel a raid, but I see it coming. Its not going to kill us, merely delay us a reset or so, but in the meantime we're looking for a few more players to fill in the last slots in the lineup.

Have a wonderful time in the sun!

Another glaive!

2 Glaives in 3 Resets :o
Blizzard, can we have a offhand glaive next week?
May 15th 2008

Towel needs you!

Our dps is almost there. The race to gear for Brutallus is up and I believe we can take him, except it seems our healer group is lacking somewhat. To remedy this, we wish to recruit 1 druid and 2 shamans to fill in the gaps in our ranks. We expect recruits to have T6 gear and full pre-sunwell experience.
Both applicants from Magtheridon as well as x-realm is encouraged if you wish to learn more about the guild, you can either read more on our forums or simply poke a officer ingame.

Kalecgos down

After some troubles recruiting enough healers to face Kalecgos, we've finally downed him! A great thankyou to all that helped us get here, be it by wiping with us the night and a half we spent learning the encounter, or by being there on that fateful 3rd attempt tonight where he went down.
Congratulations to those that received loots:

Bracers of the Forgotten Protector to Arees.
Bracers of the Forgotten Vanquisher to Earwen.
Bracers of the Forgotten Vanquisher to Enyo.
Pantaloons of Calming Strife to Niceheal.

Warglaives!

Towels trip through MH and BT, to claim this zone as farm content despite more than 50% of the guild never having seen anything past RoS(and as a consequence having us scramble to borrow HoDs from other guilds to craft SR gear for 16 people- a great thanks to Elusive for the help), culminated tonight as we killed Illidan. The powers that be must favor our little guild as they granted us a warglaive, which certainly makes things look better as for a start to our sunwell experience.
MH/BT is now officially on farm, after just one reset, and promises great things to us in the future. We're taking the rest of the reset off to farm for the new content comming up ^^

Official formation of Towel

Today, Towel officially was launched. With a full lineup and people no longer saved to instances with their previous guilds, we took to raiding for the first time as a guild and proceeded to one-shot Mount Hyjal and clear parts of Black temple in just one night. We're off to a great start and the future promises well :)
